RCIA

What is RCIA?

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, or RCIA, is a communal process for formal initiation of new members into the Catholic Church. This process is a return to the formation of the earliest members of the Church in the first and second centuries.

Your Journey of Faith can start with RCIA instruction in the Catholic faith.
(Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).

Sunday Mornings starting in September from 9:30- 11 a.m.

in the Cathedral Center Lower Level.

Contact Jill Adamson at (260)424-1485 or jadamson@cathedralfw.org to Register

BE SEALED WITH THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ~ All Baptized Catholics who need to complete the Sacraments of Initiation, please sign up for Adult Confirmation sessions to be held in March 2022. Pre-registration is required and topics differ each evening. Adult Confirmation with Bishop Rhoades will be held at the Cathedral in May 2022.

RCIA is more than memorizing facts or information about the Catholic Church.

RCIA is not a course you take and complete.

RCIA takes you through a process of faith seeking for you to achieve the fullness of the Catholic faith.

RCIA is for those seeking Baptism, a place to answer questions and journey with a RCIA team until you enter a new way of life with Christ Jesus with the Catholic Church receiving all Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic church.

RCIA is for those baptized in another denomination who have been part of a different faith tradition. The RCIA team will walk beside you on the journey preparing seekers to live fully, consciously, and actively as Catholics.

RCIA at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception uses the Catechism of the Catholic Church for Adults. We walk with those in the group through the pillars of the Catholic faith: Creed, Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer.

RCIA enrollment continues throughout the year at the Cathedral for all non-Catholics who want to open your hearts to the love of Christ Jesus!

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love!

Those baptized Catholic who seek Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation and those baptized Catholic who were married in a civil ceremony and want their marriage blessed in the Catholic church have a separate process to fulfill their needs.  The Church wants you to have a sacramental marriage and to be able to be a godparent for a baptism or a sponsor for RCIA. To meet the requirements of the Catholic church, we want to assist you every step of the way.  Reach out to our Priests or parish office to find out the path fit for each individual person.

Bible Study sessions are being formed for those who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith and brushing up on Catholic theology.  Let us know the programming you and other parishioners need to feel connected at the Cathedral.
